Don't Take Self-Doubt Into the New Year!

by Trina Newby, Business Success Coach

woman self doubt article2Towards the end of each year, I'm always encouraging business women to strategize and take action on what it is they want to do with their lives and business for the next year. You see, many women are feeling like they are in a time warp, because they are back at the same spot they experienced the previous year.

Many have asked themselves, "Why haven't I been able to get things done?", "Why haven't I made money in my business?", "What am I missing?", "Why do I always keep coming back to the same spot every year and not getting anything accomplished?". Perhaps you have asked yourself similar questions and yet, you can't seem to get the positive results you're looking for either.

So, what's the solution? Well first, it's important to know that you can't get different results doing the same thing every single year. Change must take place and it must first start with you evaluating what has not worked, so you can make the necessary improvements.

Another thing that has many women in the same spot each year is self-doubt. The dictionary defines it as "a lack of self confidence in one's own abilities". Most women who have self-doubt tend to always second guess themselves and they are stuck in a perpetual mode of procrastination, because nothing is never just right for them to get started. This is why so many women feel stuck and can't seem to move forward with their dreams and goals.

Self-doubt can steal your hope and it can wreck havoc on your self-esteem. So if you're experiencing any level of self-doubt, it must be replaced with 5 important things:

  1. Self-love
  2. Self-confidence
  3. Solutions to accompish your goals
  4. Action items to support your goals
  5. The willingness to be held accountable

In his book, Your Roadmap for Success, Leadership expert, John C. Maxwell says, "If you're not continually learning, you're going to make the same mistakes over and over again."  So, if you're "tired of being tired" and ready to not only take action, but invest in the tools you need to see results - you won't be in the same place come the end of next year.

Make a commitment to yourself to stop doubting your abililties and find solutions and resources to replace that doubt. Tap into the strength, knowledge and talent of others to enhance your abilities and move forward.  YOU CAN INDEED MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR YOURSELF!
